How Does it Differ from Other Organizational Surveys?

The best way to see the differences between Strategic Organizational Surveys and other organizational surveys is to look at the different objectives for these surveys.  While there may be some overlap, other organizational surveys generally focus on specific events, employee centered needs and near-term objectives.  As a result, organizational surveys tend to have the following objectives:

    • See how things are going
    • Pinpoint areas of concern
    • Look for union vulnerability
    • Take a look at trends from the last survey
    • Gauge reactions to new programs or recent decisions
    • Provide input to future management decisions

In addition to these objectives, Strategic Organizational Surveys have other enhanced objectives:

    • Focus on issues vital to the success of the business
    • Measure progress toward meeting strategic business objectives
    • Manage organizational change and improvement with the continuous use of objective data
    • Provide communication to employees during times of significant change, e.g., downsizing, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
    • Contribute data to a Balanced Score Card for evaluating and rewarding management
